September 30, 2017 By Ron Nedd Leave a Comment

A native Southern Californian, Bruce started as a writer and as a musician at an early age.  After many years of writing and playing music, Bruce began on a second career path in writing marketing copy.  Since then he has written hundreds and hundreds of articles, blog posts, video scripts, website copy and has done interviews with many famous people in the food and nutrition fields.   His recognized results in this field come from a combination of his skills in writing and his knowledge of marketing.  In today’s podcast he graciously shares some of his best tips in both areas.  Today you’ll hear about:

  • How an interview with Wolfgang Puck almost ended before it started
  • Why Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame was an inspiration in his writing
  • Which teenage writer for Rolling Stone helped Bruce develop his skills as an interviewer
  • The story about the low-talker and the leaf blower

Episode 001: Mark Loweree – Published Author, Chartered Life Underwriter – How to Make Life Insurance Choices Less Confusing

September 14, 2017 By Ron Nedd Leave a Comment

As a younger man and with his first child on the way, Mark realized his career choice and real passion – fiction writing – would have to be put temporarily on hold because it wasn’t going to provide for his family.  So he chose to embark on a career in life insurance and ultimately achieved the respected Chartered Life Underwriter designation.  Now that Mark has published his first fiction novel which has recently been optioned for a screenplay, he still works in the life insurance field because of his desire to help people and in our conversation shares the touching posthumous letter from a past client which explains why his second career choice still means so much to him.  Today I get to learn all about Mark Loweree – how his preference for going to a movie rather than to a dance almost derailed his plans, what has been the most interesting and most meaningful client experiences he’s had – and get my questions about life insurance answered to clear up a confusing topic.  Today you’ll hear about:

  • “Would you rather go to a movie or a dance?” – what that has to do with life insurance.
  • Mark’s book – “Gómez the god” – about the 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers
  • What is required to become a Chartered Life Underwriter and how it can benefit you .
  • When does it not make sense to have life insurance (ignoring all the media hype).
  • Why life insurance choices have to be viewed in terms of what problem needs to be solved for you, if any.
  • What is the difference between term life and whole life insurance.
  • A new type of combination whole life policy.

Episode 000: This Podcast – How to Handle Information Overload

September 7, 2017 By Ron Nedd Leave a Comment

Too much information – believe it or not, that’s one of the biggest problems you have to get past today when looking for answers, solutions or trustworthy people to work with.  On this inaugural episode, Ron Nedd discusses why there is a need for this podcast and how his own frustrations in wading through haystacks looking for pins lead him to create this way to help Glendale residents find possible solutions to the problems they are having.  He will search for business owners, entrepreneurs and thought leaders in the local area that have made an impact on their customers, clients and patients and have a conversation with them to find out who they really are and what they have to offer the people of Glendale.  By joining in on these conversations you’ll be able to make your own decisions about the people being interviewed and the solutions they present – by hearing them, in their own voice, describe how they got where they are, why they do what they do, what motivates them each day and what they have had to overcome to get where they are today.  By getting to know these people you’ll better be able to decide whether to put your trust in them.
